Southampton will be playing at home this weekend as St Mary’s Stadium will have the honour of hosting the reigning champions in Chelsea. This is a game between the fallen giants and the former giant slayers so I am excited to see how this game pans out. Both teams are playing pretty well at the moment and that is a positive for both home and away fans here since we can expect a good, well contested football match.
Chelsea had a massive win in their last match as they smashed Manchester City in the FA Cup. Although City were not playing their best team, this result will still give the Blues a lot of hope and confidence since these kinds of results have been rare for them this season. In addition to all that, Chelsea will also have the right to look forward to the return of Oscar who is now is full fitness and this will give their midfield some more creativity since he can complement Hazard, Willian and Diego Costa well. All in all this should give the team a massive boost and I think that they will do well in this match.
On the other side of the coin, Southampton have also climbed up the table well and they will be way more determined to do well in this game. This team had a poor run of form around Christmas but that seem sto be behind them and they are playing at their best now in my opinion. I think they will be tough to beat here since they are in front of a big crowd which should help them get a result.
Overall I think that this match will end in a draw. Southampton are at home while Chelsea are a quality side so I think sharing the points seems like a very likely outcome. We are getting a good enough price on the draw so I will be taking it and I think that it should come through. Also If we want to gamble a bit, both teams to score is also a good bet since going forward the teams are both very strong.
