Southampton play host to Hull City on Saturday and the Saints are in need of a win as they chase the Champions League dream and the Europa League consolation. There is no doubt that Southampton's season will , in hindsight, be judged a successful one considering the mass changes at Saint Mary's from last season to this. But with qualification for the Champions League in their sights for the majorty of the season I think a slip down the table will be viewed as a disappointing end to a great start. Ronald Koeman has done a remarkable job here, he bought well with both Pelle, Mane excelling and with the core of the team buying into Koeman's philosophy Southampton were tough to beat and a joy to watch. Southampton no matter what happend for the rest of the season have had in my opinion the best season of any team in the league.
Hull City are in real danger of dropping into the relegation zone although this week they may be saved by their rivals tough games with Burnley and QPR hosting Arsenal and Chelsea respectively. Hull need a result to move away from the relegation zone but this is a tough one, traveling to Saint Marys is not going to be an easy trip for Steve Bruce's men. Missing Nika Jelavich to a season ending injury, Hull and Bruce now turn to Hernandez to save their season and possibly their Premier League survival.
Both these teams are strong defensively, tough to beat but neither score alot of goals as well. Six of the last eight Hull away games have gone under the 2.5 mark, six of the last seven Southampton home games have gone under the mark. I am going to take the unders in what should be a low scoring affair.
