Southampton vs Liverpool 2 Dec 2015: Capital One Cup Preview and Predictions

Midweek football action takes places in England in the form of the Capital One Cup and the game that excites us is between Southampton and Liverpool. This tournament will not be the focus for either team with the Premier League a bigger priority but I don’t think either team will take this game with a lack of seriousness.

Southampton come into this match after two straight losses and they will believe that this game is a must win to turn around their form heading into the weekend. Southampton currently sit 10th on the Premier League table but in all honesty they are a much better side than that. Getting a win here will be tough since the opposition are in some amazing form but they will hope that the home crowd will be able to inspire them. Furthermore they will take hope at the fact that they last time they played Liverpool it was away from home and they managed a 1-1 draw.

Liverpool come into this game with a lot of confidence and with Phillipe Coutinho set to return, the men from Anfield will be feeling confident. The Reds are in amazing form coming into this match and after 3 straight wins, they will believe that they can also win this encounter. There are some serious issues with this Liverpool outfit such as the defense but in all honesty I don’t think that they will be exposed this game since their opposition is not playing amazingly well and Jurgen Klopp is an amazing manager who will be able to adjust accordingly.

This game has a lot of value since Liverpool come into this match an underdog. Liverpool are playing well and I think that they will win this game so putting money on them to win in definitely a bargain. Furthermore, Liverpool to qualify is paying even money which is exceptional value simply since they are a better side and their experience along with their manager should get them over the line.
