Southampton vs Sunderland 5 Mar 2016: EPL Preview and Predictions

Southampton are coming of a shock loss to Bournemouth and they will look to quickly turn things around this weekend as they take on Sunderland at home at St Mary’s stadium. This is a game that both teams will fancy and both teams will want to win desperately so I am excited to see how things go.

Southampton are coming of two straight losses, firstly to Chelsea then to Bournemouth. This is something that the team did not want especially since they fought so hard to move up the ladder after a slow start to the season. This week they will be playing one of the worse teams in the Premier League and I think that they will be hoping they can win quite easily. They are going to be in front on their home crowd and that is something they will hope to use in their advantage.

Sunderland on the other hand managed to get a draw against Crystal Palace at home. This was a game they almost lost but managed to save very late on in the piece. The fans loved it and the team would have gotten a lot of confidence from that match. This week they will look to build on that away from home.

Having said all that though, I think that Southampton will still win this match. They are a better team and they are at home so I don’t think we can bet against them. On the other hand, betting on them to win also has no value so I don’t think that is an option. I think that taking the under 2.5 goals is the best bet here since both teams have been playing some low scoring games lately and a 1-0 or 2-0 Southampton win is very likely in my opinion.

Under 2.5 Goals
