La Liga’s mid-week games are upon us, so it’s time to place your bets on the upcoming round of fixtures. Can Barcelona return to the top of the table with a win over Valladolid? Sevilla look set to heap more misery on Valencia, while Espanyol’s troubles are likely to continue against Bilbao.

Barcelona vs. Real Valladolid - 10/29/19

Barcelona will be looking to regain top spot with a win over Valladolid. The Catalan giants have won their last four league games and come into this match with a game in hand over first-place Granada. Valladolid have only managed to win three league games this season, but five draws have seen them lose just twice. Only Atletico Madrid and Athletic Bilbao have a better defensive record than Valladolid in La Liga, so I don’t expect there to be many goals in this match. A home win 1.11, so add under 3.5 goals into the mix to boost the odds.

Pick: Barcelona to Win and Under 3.5 Goals – 2.10

Valencia vs. Sevilla – 10/30/19

Valencia have been extremely inconsistent this season. With a record of W3/D4/L3 in La Liga so far, it’s difficult to predict how they will fare against Sevilla. With that being said, Sevilla have won six of their nine league games this season and have won three of their last five. They are one of four teams on 19 points, just one point off top spot. On the other hand, Valencia are down in 12th. I think Sevilla will be too strong for Valencia, and the fact that they are the away team on Wednesday makes their odds very tempting.

Pick: Sevilla to Win – 2.50

Athletic Bilbao vs. Espanyol – 10/30/19

Bilbao are 10th in La Liga and boast the second-best defensive record in the division. However, they have only managed to score eight goals in ten league games, with just four teams scoring less this season. Espanyol are struggling in the relegation zone and have the worst goal difference (-10) in La Liga. This is set to be a low scoring affair, but Athletic Bilbao should come out on top. Espanyol’s dismal goal scoring record will not improve against Bilbao’s solid defense, so I can see this match ending 1-0 or 2-0 in favor of the home side.

Pick: Athletic Bilbao to Win and Under 2.5 Goals – 3.12

The pick in this article is the opinion of the writer, not a Sports Chat Place site consensus.
