Huge game at the weekend for Chelsea as they travel to the Britannia Stadium to take on a Stoke City team that have in recent years been tough to beat for Chelsea especially in the Britannia. Chelsea won midweek against Dynamo Kyiv but it took a last minute free kick from the excellent Willian to win the game. Jose Mourhino is definitely feeling the pressure but the blues boss is confident his side can turn things around and looking at his squad I understand his confidence. With Fabregas, Hazard, Diego Costa, Willian, Matic and Oscar there is too much talent her for the blues to continue to struggle. The injury to goalkeeper Courtois has had an impact though and former Stoke goalkeeper Begovich will face his old side for the second time in ten days having had a game to forget against Dynamo. Begovich is a good goalkeeper but his backline has struggled this season and that leads to uncertainty and doubt at the back.
With Mark Hughes side playing well of late the Stoke City fans will be confident of their side performing well on Saturday when they face the Champions. Jonathon Walters, Arnautovich , Bojan and Diouf will give Chelsea's struggling defence plenty of problems. Stoke have only one home win this season though and struggled a little earlier in the season but have been excellent lately with five wins in their last seven in all competitions and have moved from the relegation zone to fourteenth. The Potters though are just a point ahead of Chelsea and the game on Saturday could see them move as high as ninth with a win. There is no doubt that Stoke will have a gameplan for the Champions but the question is will they be able to carry it out?
Going to take both teams to score here as I think Chelsea's struggling defence will get it hard to cope with Walters, Diouf, Bojan, Afellay and Arnautovich and likewise on the other side I think Chelsea's much vaunted attack is due a good game. With Costa, Hazard, Fabregas, Willian and Oscar there has to be goals in this Chelsea side.
