Sunderland will be at home in front of their fans at the Stadium of Light this weekend as Arsenal come to visit in a game that both teams will desperately want to get a result from. Normally at this time of the year, some of the teams don’t care anymore but this is not the case for either side here since both teams have plenty to play for so I expect a good, hard fought game here.
Arsenal played midweek in a game that they won quite easily so the players will be feeling pretty good about that. Having said that though, this has been another disappointing season for the gunners and that is something that will have an impact on the team morale. I think this will impact their game here today since they are away from and their opposition are determined.
Sunderland on the other hand are fighting for their life and survival is the only thing on the minds of the player. This survival battle is between three teams at the moment, with one only surviving and I think Sunderland will know that they have to get a point here since their competitors in Newcastle managed a draw against both Manchester City and Liverpool in the past few days.
Overall, I think Sunderland might just have what it takes to get a point from this match. This side was gone a few months ago but in recent weeks they have given a fight so I think they should get a point against an Arsenal team who seem like they don’t care about it anymore. That being said, Arsenal should care since they still have Champions League spots to play for but a draw seems right here.
