Sunderland vs Aston Villa 03/14/2015 Premier League Preview, Odds and Prediction

Sunderland host Aston Villa on Saturday with both teams sitting just above the relegation zone and Sunderland just one point ahead of Aston Villa in the league table. Villa finally got a couple of wins under their best when beating West Brom in back to back games one of the Premier League games and an FA Cup game. Villa fans needed those wins against a rival and Tim Sherwood is now in with a chance of saving Villa from relegation. Villa with a young side full of talent this is a team that could be a real challenger next season but first they must avoid the traps of relegation. It is often said that a team is too talented to go down, well this Villa team fits that bill but they need to keep winning games and moving away from the relegation zone because if they lose tomorrow and get dragged back into the drop zone I am not sure they have the goalscoring talent to get out of it. Benteke and Agbonlahor have loads of talent but the goals have not been coming this season and Villa have scored the least amount of goals in the league this season.

Sunderland have lost three of five and have dropped down the table over the last five weeks. Sitting only four points above the relegation zone the black cats look like a team that are going to struggle for the rest of the season. In fact with Adam Johnson's club suspension and the lack of goals between Fletcher and Wickham it is hard to see how Sunderland can survive unless they improve dramatically. Gus Poyet's side are very up and down but lately it's been more down that up. At home though Sunderland should have some good support and they couldnt have asked for a better match up than the struggling Aston Villa who have lost their last six away games and have failed to score a goal in those six games.

This is one of those games that could go either way, both teams really need a win but both have had their struggles this season. I think the best bet on the board is the unders though as neither team has been prolific and both actually have been relatively decent defensivley. Taking the under here.
