Swansea City take on Newcastle United at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday with the Swans coming into this game off the back of a terrific performance against Chelsea last weekend. Swansea played really well against the Champions and even though Chelsea were reduced to ten men in the second half Swansea were already in the game and playing well before the penalty incident that seen Thibaut Courtois sent off. Swansea strikers Ayew and Gomis both scored and looked like a good partnership in the making. Gary Monk will be looking for more of the same on Saturday as they face a Newcastle United side that really struggled to contain Southampton last weekend.
Newcastle themselves started the Steve Mclaren era with a 2-2 draw in a really entertaining game at St James Park. Newcastle are led by striker Papa Cisse who is a natural goalscorer, Wijnaldum scored on his debut for the magpies as well and the midfielder was impressive outside of scoring his goal. Newcastle have some tough tackling players in their squad and this game could hinge on the midfield battle where Tiote and Sissokho will face off against Shelvey and Sigurrdson.
I'm going to take Swansea here, I was really impressed last weekend as Swansea got amongst the Chelsea players every chance they had and played out a near perfect tactical performance from start to finish. Monk was one of the most impressive managers last season and he looks to continue that success into the new season. Swansea got a great player in Andre Ayew and I think he could be one of the signings of the season with him and Gomis looking good together Swansea are not going to be easy to beat. I'm taking the Welsh side to get the win here
