The Saints travel to the Liberty Stadium on Saturday with Southampton in the midst of their best run of form for the season, can Swansea build on their own four game unbeaten streak? Southampton are one of the form teams in the league with thirteen points in their last five games and the Saints have been impressive especially defensively over that period. Conceding only one goal in their last six games the Southampton defence have found their form and are giving Frazer Foster an opportunity to audition for a place in England's squad for the summer. Ronald Koeman's side are impressive with Clasie finally finding his feet and the ever impressive Wanyama dictating games , Wanyama will be a loss though on Saturday as he misses the game through suspension. Shane Lone, Pelle and Mane are forming a quality front three and Southampton have risen to seventh in the league table and will be looking for a top six finish and a place in Europe.
Swansea have dragged themselves away from the relegation zone in recent weeks with eight points from their last four games but the Swans still sit only four points clear and will be looking to get themselves some seperation this weekend as Norwich, Newcastle and Sunderland all have tough games. A win for Swansea would be a huge coup and against a tough Southampton perhaps a win is being optimistic.Sigurddson, Ayew and Gomis will be key if Swansea are to get all three points. Sigurddson has been sensational in recent weeks and Ayew is perhaps the signing of the season for Swansea, composed and quality throughout.
Tough game here to call. I think Southampton just about deserve favouritism but I'm not sure I can take them here to get the win. Instead I am going to go small on a draw at halftime. I think Swansea will approach this game as a point is a success and with two relatively decent defences here I think this one will be a low scoring affair.
