Monday night football from Wales and the Liberty Stadium as Swansea host Stoke City in what promises to be an entertaining game of football. Swansea have been excellent at home this season but come into this game having failed to win in their last five games and have lost three of those five although all the losses were away from home. The Liberty Stadium has been a fortress for the Swans both this season and last and Gary Monk has his team playing really good football. With the addition of Andre Ayew in the off season Swansea now have a player that can compliment the strengths of Gomis, Ayew is a busy creative player, not an out and out goal scorer but a player that will create things and feed off a big number nine which Gomis really is. Add Sigurdsson into the mix and we have a team here that has enough talent to be in the top half of the Premier League but they need to pick up some points away from home and continue to dominate at home.
Stoke City have picked up seven of their nine points in the League in their last three games. The Potters were unlucky earlier in the year losing a couple of tight games but in the last three weeks they've gotten some solid displays and have three wins and a draw in their last four in all competitions. Mark Hughes has bought good players and while it takes a while for all these new players to gel this is a team that is playing good football and believe in themselves. A front three of Bojan, Diouf and Arnautovich along with the hard working Walters is a big ask for any team to marshall and with Charlie Adam and Glen Whelan sitting back defensively this is a well balanced team.
Monday night football should be fun this weekend, with Swansea looking to bounce back after the International break and having had a rough couple of weeks results wise I think Gary Monk will be really looking for a big performance here. Stoke City on the other hand come into this game with high confidence as they have won three in a row. I like both offences here and I am going to take both teams to score, we should have a good game here and one I am looking forward to.
