The Line: Sweden +190 / Draw +200 / Switzerland +160 -- Over/Under: 2.5
Sweden take on Switzerland in the round of 16 of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Both teams will see this tournament as an opportunity to make a name of the world stage. This ambition should ensure that we get a top quality game of football between two great football teams.
Switzerland have been very impressive in this World Cup. The Swiss managed to come from one goal down to draw against Brazil and then came back from a goal down to beat Serbia. This shows the fighting spirit of the side. There is tons of talent in this side with Shaqiri once again showing his skill. The winger has been impressive for Switzerland for many years and he has once again made enough of a difference to get his team to this stage of the competition. The defense of Switzerland has been good in this tournament with the keeper, Sommers, looking very sharp. This trait will need to continue in this game for Sweden to have a chance of winning.
On the other side of the coin, Sweden will see themselves as favorites. The Swedes were dominant against Mexico and that win showed the potential of the side, especially under pressure. It will be important for Sweden that Emil Forsberg improves in this game since the RB Leipzig midfielder is the key players for the Scandinavian team. He has not done well this far but I am expecting him to show his class in this pressure match. The defense for Sweden has been very strong and I expect that to continue.
All in all, I see Sweden winning this game and booking a spot in the quarterfinals. While Switzerland have been impressive, Sweden have shown that extra level and that should get them over the line. Having said that, I am still expecting this to be a very close game. As far as betting is concerned, we are getting a great price to wager on Sweden to win. This seems like the best bet for this game. The under 2.5 goals is also a bet which I like since neither team is known for scoring goals.
