The big news coming from West London is that Real Madrid and Chelsea have agreed to a deal that will move Eden Hazard from Stamford Bridge to the Santiago Bernabeu. The transfer fee for Eden Hazard is reported to be approximately €100 million.
Real Madrid had a very poor 2018/2019 season as they only finished 3rd in La Liga and were eliminated by Ajax in the second round. A disappointing season at the Bernabeu typically means that it will be a big summer for Real Madrid and that is evident from this transfer. Eden Hazard will look to fill the gap that was left by the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo as the Belgian superstar has the pace and skills to create chances and score goals. It is likely that Bale will be joined Luka Jovic and Karim Benzema to form a dangerous attacking trio.
Eden Hazard had a very strong season at Chelsea as the winger scored 16 goals in 37 Premier League matches. Hazard was key to Chelsea making the top 4 and winning the Europa League. Eden Hazard was outstanding during the Europa League final as he scored twice to secure the title for the Blues. Eden Hazard has been at Chelsea since 2012 and has scored 245 games for the club. Hazard has scored 85 goals for Chelsea. Losing Eden Hazard is a major loss for Chelsea as the club is expecting to face a transfer ban which will prevent them from signing any new players. Hazard was the best player for the Blues and the team will be much weaker without the Belgian winger. Unfortunately for Chelsea, this was a transfer that was inevitable since Hazard had only 12 months left on his contract and was desperate to join the Spanish club.
This is an incredible signing for Real Madrid as Eden Hazard is a tremendous player. Hazard is only 28 and the Belgian superstar is expected to be at his peak for many years. It is unlikely that Eden Hazard will be Real Madrid’s final signing as the team is looking to rebuild following a very poor season. Hazard won’t fix all the problems for Real Madrid but his addition will be huge in ensuring the team is a major attacking force once again.
