The Europa League returns on Thursday and I’ve picked out some of the best bets for Matchday 2.

I’m predicting a vital away win for FC Basel while CSKA should pick up a comfortable victory at home. Wolves travel to Turkey to face Besiktas and this is set to be a fascinating clash.

CSKA Moscow vs. Espanyol – 10/3/19

Both these teams suffered defeats on Matchday 1, but I'm predicting that CSKA will turn things around against Espanyol. The Spanish club have won just 1 of their 7 La Liga matches this season and have an unhealthy goal difference of –8 as a result. CSKA have won 8 of their 11 Premier League games and boast the second-best defensive record in the Russian top-flight. CSKA have also only lost 2 of their last 20 home matches, so betting on them to beat Espanyol on Thursday makes sense. Add an over/under market to your bet to enhance the price.

Pick: CSKA Moscow to Win and Over 1.5 Goals – 2.76

Trabzonspor vs. FC Basel – 10/3/19

Basel come into this match on the back of a 5-0 win against Krasnodar in round one. The Swiss club also sits at the top of their domestic league having lost just once in 9 top-flight matches this term. On the other hand, Trabzonspor find themselves in 4th place in the Turkish Super Lig with only 2 wins from their opening 6 matches. They were beaten 1-0 by Getafe in their first Europa League match this season, so I’m backing Basel to continue their impressive form. The bookies are offering a high price due to the Swiss club playing away.

Pick: FC Basel to Win – 2.90

Besiktas vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers – 10/3/19

Besiktas lost 4-2 to Group K underdogs Slovan Bratislava in the previous round and have also made a poor start to life in the Turkish Super Lig this term. They have managed just 1 win domestically and look like a team low on confidence. Wolves have also started the campaign in disappointing fashion and only just picked up their first league win of the season against Watford on Saturday. Both teams are out of sorts and I think the points will be shared in this clash. A score-draw looks likely here, so a price of 4.10 cannot be ignored.

Pick: The Draw and Both Teams to Score – 4.10
