Uruguay +115 / Draw +230 / Chile +240
In the 2019 COPA America, Chile will play against Uruguay at the Estadio Jornalista Mário Filho in Rio de Janeiro.
Chile currently have 6 points from their 2 games. In their last match, Chile won 2-1 against Ecuador.
During the win against Ecuador, Chile were very efficient with the ball as they had only 46% of the possession but created the majority of the scoring chances. Chile had 10 shots which was 3 more than Ecuador. Alexis Sanchez seemed to be back to his best as the Manchester United winger showed his class by scoring the winning goal for the team. José Pedro Fuenzalida also played well as the scored Chile’s opening goal. The only goal that Chile conceded was due to a penalty being awarded to Ecuador. It has been an outstanding tournament for Chile as they have won both their games while scoring 6 goals and only conceding once. Chile are the reigning Copa America champions and considering their current form, the team will be optimistic about their chances of defending the title.
Uruguay, on the other hand, only managed a 2-2 draw against Japan. As it currently stands, Uruguay have 4 points from 2 games.
Uruguay would be disappointed with the result from their game against Japan as they were expected to win. Uruguay had 59% of the ball and 29 shots but were unable to win against a very determined Japanese outfit. While the result was not ideal for Uruguay, the team should not be too concerned as they had 10 shots on target and looked in decent touch. Uruguay should have enough points to qualify but they will be determined to win as it will allow them to top the group.
Uruguay and Chile are the two top teams in the group and both will know that a victory will place them with an easier draw in the quarterfinals. Both teams are playing well but I am going to pick Chile to win this match. Chile have been able to produce their best football and they have handled big moments better than Uruguay. Chile seem to always find their best form in the Copa America and I see them having enough ability to get the full points from this match.
