One of the games of the week on the International stage will see Uruguay host Colombia in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier. Uruguay will still be without suspended pair Luis Suarez and Edison Cavani but having beaten Bolivia 2-0 on thursday I am sure the Uruguaians will still fancy their chances against a star studded Colombia especially at home in Motevideo. Captain and star man Diego Godin is the epitome of what one would want in a captain, he gives 100% in every single game and puts his body on the line for his team, the Atletico Madrid center half even scored the second goal to assure victory on Thursday last. With a solid squad devoid of what one would call a world class center forward (remember both suarez and cavani are out) this is a team that will have to grind out their results at least until the aforementioned players come back. Hernandez and Stuani will start up front and they must work hard and keep the Colombian back line busy if Uruguay are to be successful on Tuesday.
Colombia on the other hand are a team of brilliant individuals with Quadrado, Falcao, BAcca, Martinez and that is without the injured James Rodriguez. This is one of the best Colombian sides ever and former captain and star man Falcao finds himself on the bench such is the strength of this Colombia squad. Ac Milan striker Bacca is the key man right now and he will lead the line against one of the best defences in South America. Bacca has settled well in Italy and three goals in seven games is a reasonable return but the €30 million price tag will demand more from the former Sevilla forward. I think Colombia use Bacca and Quadrado's pace against Uruguay on Tuesday as the one place Godin may be lacking is in the pace department.
This one should be a fascinating encounter. I cant see much between the sides here and given the value involved I am going to take the draw. This will be one of the games I take in over the next few days as we will see a serious amount of the talent on the pitch between the two squads.
