USA is welcoming Chile in an international friendly match.

USA is pretty good team that is playing some nice and offensively oriented soccer and are currently on a 3-game winning streak with 6 scored goals and with 0 conceded goals against some pretty good teams like Ecuador and Costa Rica. Christian Pulisic is the best player of this USA squad and was recently signed by Chelsea. In their last game against Ecuador 5 days ago, USA was much better team with 62% ball possession, 2 shots on goal and 6 corner kick and have won this game 1-0 which certainly gave a big boost to both coach Berhalter and players. USA are ranked as 25th in FIFA standings and that is realistically the place where this USA team belongs for now because they are in a rebuild mode with a lot of young players who have potential to make a big impact in next World Cup in 2024 which will be hosted by Mexico, USA and Canada.

Chile is one of the best teams in South America and have won Copa America back in 2016 by beating Argentina. Chile has a pretty good team led by Arturo Vidal who is their best player. Coach Rivera was signed in January of 2018 after Chile failed to qualify to the World Cup in Russia and since then Chile has won only 3 games. When signed, coach Rivera has decided to give more chances to some young players like Morales, Martinez and Vegas who will carry this team in the future. This is Chile’s last game before Copa America starts in June and I expect from coach Rivera to put his strongest lineup out there because Chile is no playing good enough soccer to compete with top dogs Brazil and Argentina and Uruguay in Copa America. In their last game against Mexico, Chie had 53% ball possession but with only 2 shots on goal couldn’t compete with Mexico and have lost that game 3-1. Chile are missing their best player Alexis Sanchez who is injured in this match but he is expected to return healthy and ready for Copa America in June.

This is the match between two pretty equal team at the moment and because USA is playing at home I’m giving them a slight edge in what I think will be hard game for both teams.

Pick:
USA +187

Being from Croatia I was raised with soccer all around me and I loved to watch and play soccer ever since i was little kid, especially after Croatia won third place in 1998 World Cup in France. I watch and follow soccer on a daily basis and to get the oppurtunity to write about it is amazing.
