Villarreal and Real Madrid meet Saturday in La Liga soccer action at El Madrigal.

Villarreal enters this match with an overall record of 18-6-13, a 11-2-5 record at home and a 7-4-8 record on the road. Villarreal will enter this meeting with a great deal of confidence conceding its won four of its last five matches and earned points in five of its last six matches overall. Villarreal has been on a recent tear offensively and is coming off a four-goal performance in its recent match against Deportivo La Coruna. If Villarreal will continue to push the pace and look to be aggressive, the momentum this club has built is going to be tough to stop. Bacca leads Villarreal with 15 goals, Enes Unal has six goals and Samu Castillejo has five goals.

Real Madrid enters this match with an overall record of 22-9-6, a 12-4-3 record at home and a 10-5-3 record on the road. Real Madrid has earned points in 10 of its last 11 matches and is coming off a 6-0 victory over Celta Vigo. Real Madrid has scored two or more goals in five of its last six matches and should be able to meet that here as well considering its averaging 2.1 goals on the road this season. Ronaldo has taken his game to ridiculous levels lately and is expected to give it a go for this game after missing some time due to injury. There was video released of Ronaldo and Dani Carvajal in full training, which is a good sign they’ll be ready to return. Ronaldo leads Real Madrid with 25 goals, Bale has 15 goals and Isco has seven goals.

These two teams have split the previous five meetings with a 2-2-1 record. Villarreal did beat Real Madrid in  the most recent match in January, 1-0. Three of the last five meetings between these clubs have produced at least two goals.

Both of these teams are playing well enough that you could make a case for either side. Expect a lot of exciting offense and a back and forth contest. But with Carvajal and Ronaldo back healthy, I have a hard time betting against Real Madrid in this spot.
