Wigan vs Manchester City 19 February 2018: FA Cup Preview and Predictions

USA TODAY Sports

Manchester City are looking at winning the treble this season and in order to do this, they will need to win the FA Cup. This weekend they take on Wigan Athletic away from home in a game which they will expect to win easily.

Wigan Athletic will feel unlucky that they drew Manchester City in the matchup draw but they will need to look at this as an opportunity to cause a massive upset at home. It is more than likely many key players will be rested but it is still important to play well since Manchester City have a very strong reserve team. A strong run in the FA Cup will be big for the Wigan fans so I am expecting a good performance from the home side.

On the other side of the coin, I am expecting Manchester City to play well and try to kill this game quickly. It is unlikely the like of De Bruyne and Aguero will be playing this game since they will be rested but when the squad has reserve players like Bernardo Silva and Fabian Delph, there should be no major issue. This game should be more of a formality and I think that the visiting Manchester City side will win it very easily.

Taking my prediction into consideration, it is hard to find good bets for this game since we are not getting a very good price betting on the away side to win. I think the best bet is over 3.5 goals and I think it is quite a safe bet since Manchester City should score 4 goals easily. We are getting a good price on this wager and as a result it is my betting prediction for this game.

Pick:
Over 3.5 goals
