Wolfsburg vs Schalke 08/28/2015 Bundesliga Preview, Odds & Predictions

One of the games of the weekend comes from Wolfsburg this weekend as Bundesliga heavyweights Schalke and Wolfsburg go head to head. There is a lot of speculation about Wolfsburg's Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne who is being linked with moves to both Manchester City and Bayern Munich. The young midfielder definitely appears to be unsettled by the constant speculation and it may be that he is not started on Friday night just to save him from the hype. Wolfsburg though have enough quality to replace the brilliant midfielder with German world cup winner Andre Schurrle, Dost, Bendtner and Perisisc more than capable of carrying the can offensively for a very exciting Wolfsburg side. This is a team that played some brilliant football last season and will be focused on again competing in the Bundesliga again and maybe even challenging for the bundesliga title but they will probably need to keep a hold of De Bruyne for such a lofty goal as Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund look very strong this season.

Schalke themselves look like a team that has added significant quality with Franko Di Santo coming in up front and looking an immediate threat. With the return to fitness of Julian Draxler, the consistant threat of Klass Jan Huntelaar and the pace and power of Choupu Moting this is a team that has multiple threats and can take anyone on their day. This should be a fascinating encounter as we have two teams that are really exciting going forward and there is a real sprinkling of quality among both squads. It's really hard not to like the overs in this one as I just see goals when I look at the two teams on paper. That's not always what happens in these meetings of the top teams though and both were involved in 1-1 draws last week so there is evidence that both can be involved in low scoring games.

For me though I have to take the overs here, these Friday night Bundesliga games have in general been very good for us here at SCP and on Friday I'm taking the overs here in what should be one of the funnest games to watch this weekend.
