German tennis player, Alexander Zverev has made it into the third round of the 2019 ATP French Open in Paris. At this stage of the tournament, Alexander Zverev will play against Dusan Lajovic from Serbia.

Dusan Lajovic is the number 30 seed at this tournament and he has started this event well. Lajovic looked very solid in his previous match which he won in straight sets. During the win, Dusan Lajovic served very impressively. Lajovic won 77% of his service points which allowed him to win 93% of his service games. In addition to that, Lajovic won 5 return games to seal a comfortable result. This is expected to be a significantly tougher match for Dusan Lajovic as he is playing against the number 5 seed.

Looking at Alexander Zverev, it has been a very impressive tournament from the German superstar, Zverev played incredibly well during his previous match where he defeated Mikael Ymer in straight sets. Zverev’s serving was outstanding as he hit 12 aces and won 72% of his service points. Zverev won over 90% of his service games and over 35% of his return games to seal a very impressive win. It has been a very strong few weeks for Alexander Zverev as he won the Geneva Open prior to arriving at Roland Garros. Zverev looks very confident and that should make him extremely tough to defeat.

Alexander Zverev and Dusan Lajovic have played each other once in the past. The previous match between Zverev and Lajovic was also at the French Open and it took place in 2018. It was a 5 set marathon which Alexander Zverev won.

Dusan Lajovic has been playing solid tennis but I see the Serb struggling in this match. Lajovic has not been at his best prior to the French Open and he seems to lack the extra edge that is needed to compete with the likes of Zverev. Zverev looks in outstanding form following his win in Geneva and I see him being too strong for Dusan Lajovic.
