The number 8 seed at Wimbledon, Petra Kvitova, will begin her campaign on Tuesday. She will be taking on Aliaksandra Sasnovich from Belarus. There is tons of talent in this tennis match and I am expecting to see both players perform at the top of their abilities.
Aliaksandra Sasnovich is a very exciting prospect. She has had some decent results in doubles but has yet to establish herself at singles. She made the second round of the French Open and the third round of the Australian Open. These are decent results and I am sure that she will look have another good run at Wimbledon. As it currently stands, Aliaksandra Sasnovich is the 49th ranked player in the world and with age on her side, I am sure she will be able to improve that in the future.
On the other side of the court, Petra Kvitova will be very confident heading into this match. She has won this tournament twice and it can be seen that the grass courts of Wimbledon suit her style of play. Petra Kvitova has played a decent amount of grass court tennis in 2018 with the most noticeable performance being her title win at WTA Birmingham. There are huge expectations on Petra Kvitova and she enters this tournament as one of the favorites to lift the trophy.
All in all, I am going to predict that Petra Kvitova will win this match. While Aliaksandra Sasnovich is a very talented player, Petra Kvitova is simply playing at a different level at the moment. Petra Kvitova is known for her powerful groundstrokes and that is perfectly suited for the grass courts of Wimbledon. This along with her great position and speed will make it way to hard for Aliaksandra Sasnovich to compete.
Looking at the odds, we are not getting a good enough price to wager on Petra Kvitova to win so that is a bet which I would avoid. The best bet is the under 2.5 sets which should be an easy win since I don't see the world number 8 losing a set.
