Wozniacki vs. Sevastova

The Line: -- Over/Under:
Anastasija Sevastova and Caroline Wozniacki meet in the quarterfinals of the 2016 US Open.
Anastasija Sevastova is coming off a straight sets win over Johanna Konta that took 22 games to decide. In the victory, Sevastova won 61 percent of her first serve points and 40 percent of her second serve points. Sevastova is now the cinderella of this tournament considering she’s beaten two top-15 players and is having by far her most grand slam success. Sevastova has yet to drop a set this tournament and this is the type of performance that could put the 26-year-old Latvian on the map. Sevastova hopes to make her first grand slam semifinal appearance. Sevastova has won eight of her last nine matches on hard court.
Caroline Wozniacki is coming off a straight sets win over Madison Keys that took 19 games to decide. In the victory, Wozniacki won 80 percent of her first serve points and 65 percent of her second serve points. Wozniacki has now won her last eight sets and is showing glaring signs of being the player we saw a few years ago. Wozniacki is playing very good defense, moving extremely well and making little to no unforced errors. It’s nice to see Wozniacki get back to proper form, and she’s now a top-50 player in the world again. Wozniacki hopes to make her first grand slam semifinal since the 2014 US Open. Wozniacki has won five of her last seven matches on hard court.
These two have played once in the past, which was in the 2011 Australian Open, a match Wozniacki won in straight sets. The match took 19 games to decide.
If this is the Wozniacki we’re going to get, she’s going to win this match. Her court coverage and defense will make the difference here. Not to mention she’s far more experienced and seems to have gotten her confidence back.
I like Wozniacki to get to the US Open semifinals.
