The Final of the 2020 New York Open is here! A newly motivated Kyle Edmund meets the Italian Veteran, Andreas Seppi, it what should be a very interesting Final. Who will win the trophy in New York?
Andreas Seppi put on an amazing display against Jason Jung, ending Jung's fairytale tournament here in New York. Seppi seemed to have it all under control. Seppi's serve was on point, his forehand was great, and he couldn't seem to miss on his backhand. Seppi will want to make the most of his final years on tour as he is leaning towards the end of his career, and he will be extra motivated to lift the trophy here in New York. Seppi has the experience and the knowledge of how to play in big occasions, however, will he be able to against a younger, and more confident player?
Kyle Edmund absolutely destroyed Miomir Kecmanovic in the semi-final beating Kecmanovic 6-1/6-4. Edmund has found form again and with this he is taking more chances which he previously wouldn't. It is great to see Edmund playing at this level again as he used to be one of the most exciting prospects in the game. Edmund will be very confident coming into this final and we will see this in the way he will play. Edmund is an amazing player and he will have an amazing 2020 season if he is able to continue this style of play.
This will be the 6th meeting between these two, and the H2H gives us a great indication of how this Final will progress. Edmund leads the H2H 4-1 and with his newly found form and confidence, I believe this will be Edmund's game. Edmund is faster, stronger, and more confident than Seppi at the moment. Edmund knows he can beat Seppi and this will be a straightforward victory for the Brit.
Kyle Edmund to win.
