Andy Murray continues his charge in the Citi Open in Washington DC as the Scottish superstar has made it past the round of 16 and into the quarterfinals of the tournament. At this stage of the tournament, Andy Murray will take on Australian teenager, Alex de Minaur. Both players will believe that they can win this match so we should expect a really hard-fought tennis match.

Alex de Minaur has established himself as one of the most exciting young tennis players in the world. The Australian has already impressed on the ATP stage with deep runs in tournaments. Wimbledon was a good tournament for Alex de Minaur as he made it deep into the event until losing to Rafael Nadal. That run would give him confidence for this tournament and he will hope that he can beat one of the best players in the world in the form of Andy Murray. It is going to be a tough match for Alex de Minaur but the Australian is very talented and it will be exciting to see him rise to the challenge.

On the other side of the coin, Andy Murray will hope to win this tournament. It has been an age since the Scottish superstar last won an ATP event and he will feel that this is a great chance for him to win a title. The US Open is only weeks away and Andy Murray will have big hopes for that tournament. Winning the Citi Open will be a good confidence boost for the former world number 1 and I am sure he will look to take it.

While Alex de Minaur has impressed me on many occasions, I don’t think he will be good enough to beat Andy Murray. The Scottish superstar is looking like he is close to his best and I will be surprised if he doesn’t win the entire tournament, let alone this match.
