Scottish superstar, Andy Murray is set to play at the Shenzhen Open where he will take on Zhang Zhizhen from China in the opening round.

Zhang Zhizhen enters this tournament after some strong performances at Challenger events. Zhang Zhizhen won a Challenger doubles title last week and has done extremely well in other singles events in Challenger tournaments around China. Zhang Zhizhen is playing in his home country and has a huge amount of experience playing in China so that should be a massive boost for the player. Zhang Zhizhen will also have the support of his home crowd for this match. That being said, Zhang Zhizhen is not a regular of the ATP tour and his opponent is one of the best players in the world. It is unlikely Zhang Zhizhen will be used to playing the likes of Andy Murray so this is set to be a very tough match for the Chinese player.

On the other side of the court, Andy Murray will hope to return to his best form. Murray has struggled with injury but following solid few weeks of tennis, he should be ready for this event. Andy Murray has a great record at the Shenzhen Open as he won this title in 2014. With the season drawing to an end, Murray will know the importance of winning these events and improving his ranking since he fell far down the ranks during his injury break. Murray is one of the best tennis players in the world and he is more than capable of winning this match with ease.

This will be the first time that Andy Murray and Zhang Zhizhen will play each other.

Taking everything into consideration, I see Andy Murray winning this match with ease. Murray is in a different level to Zhang Zhizhen and I don’t see the Chinese player causing the former world number 1 many problems.
