The Line: -- Over/Under:
Canadian youngster, Bianca Andreescu has made it into the final of the 2019 WTA Indian Wells Open in California. Andreescu will compete against Angelique Kerber for the title.
Bianca Andreescu has had an exceptional tournament and she continued her outstanding form by beating Elina Svitolina in the previous round. It was a close match for Andreescu as the contest lasted 3 sets but the Canadian showed her class in the final set to secure the overall win. Andreescu’s returning was very strong as she broke Svitolina’s serve on 6 occasions. It is important to note that Bianca Andreescu struggled with her own service game as she allowed her opponent to win 6 service games. Considering Bianca Andreescu is playing an exceptional received in Kerber, she will have to improve her serve since it is a weakness which the German superstar is exceptional at exploiting.
On the other side of the coin, Angelique Kerber won her previous won her semifinal match with ease as she beat Belinda Bencic. Kerber showed her class as a returner during the win as she won 69% of her receiving points which allowed her to break Bencic’s serve on 7 occasions. Kerber has had a very strong tournament as she has beaten the likes of Venus Williams and Aryna Sabalenka in previous round. Kerber is highly experienced and has won 12 WTA titles in the past so she will be very confident as she enters this match.
This will be the first time that Angelique Kerber and Bianca Andreescu will be playing each other at a WTA event.
Bianca Andreescu has had an exceptional tournament and her performance has made a statement to the entire tour. That being said, I am going to pick Angelique Kerber to win. Finals are often determined by the player that handles the occasion better so I am picking Kerber since she is more experienced and has won more titles when compared to Bianca Andreescu. Kerber has played well at this tournament and I see her winning this match and her 13th WTA title.
