French tennis player, Pierre-Hugues Herbert had a solid win in the previous round as he won in straight sets. That win places Pierre-Hugues Herbert in the quarterfinals of the 2019 ATP Hungarian Open where he will play against Attila Balázs from Hungary.

Attila Balázs eliminated the number 6 seed from Australia, John Millman, in the previous round. It was a close match for Attila Balázs but the Hungarian held his nerve to win the contest in 3 sets. During the win, Attila Balázs served very well as the Hungarian won 60% of his service games which resulted in him winning 85% of his service games. This will be another challenge for Attila Balázs as the Hungarian is playing a very accomplished opponent.

On the other side of the coin,  Pierre-Hugues Herbert defeated Matthias Bachinger from Germany in the previous round. Herbert was very impressive throughout the match as the Frenchman broke his opponent’s serve on 5 occasions while winning 80% of his service games. It has been a very good few weeks for Pierre-Hugues Herbert as he had a strong run at the ATP Monte Carlo Masters prior to arriving in Hungary. At Monte Carlo, Pierre-Hugues Herbert defeated a top player in Kei Nishikori. Considering his recent form, Herbert will enter this match filled with confidence.

This will be the first occasion where Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Attila Balázs will play each other in singles tennis at an ATP event.

Taking everything into consideration, I am going to pick Pierre-Hugues Herbert to win this match. Attila Balázs has had a good tournament and will challenge for the win but Herbert seems to be playing on a higher level. Pierre-Hugues Herbert has looked very solid since the start of the clay season and I see him winning this fixture and making the semifinals.
