Pliskova has a chance to win three straight matches for the first time since Lugano. Pliskova has won five straight matches on grass court.
These two have played twice and Strycova won both matches in straight sets. The meetings took place in 2018 Linz and 2013 Palermo.
Pliskova is coming off the better victory between the two, but she’s also somebody who has had issues with consistency. Pliskova has also had previous success against her sister and you have to question the nerves in that match for both players, which does take some of the steam from that victory. Strycova has been terrific with her return this tournament and has made some solid runs these last couple of months. Strycova is easier to trust in a spot like this.
Strycova to the semifinals.
