It's an all French first-round matchup in the 2020 Marseille Open between Benoit Paire and Gregoire Barrere.

Benoit Paire is such a fun player to watch. Paire is so unpredictable and throughout his career he has been able to create some incredible moments, some fun moments, and some crazy moments. The veteran Frenchman has the skills to compete with anyone on the court, however, in the last couple of weeks he has struggled to find his form. Paire struggles with consistency in his game and is a very emotional player. It will be interesting to see what Benoit Paire is able to bring to the table here in Marseille. Will Paire show up and be serious from the get go, or will he give up points easily and let his emotions get the better of him? Let's hope he is in full form.

Gregoire Barrere has had a great start to 2020. Barrere reached the quarterfinals in Montpellier, beating Grigor Dimitrov along the way. Barrere is a strong player, his forehand is incredible and he moved incredibly quickly around the court. Barrere will look to have his chances here in Marseille, he just needs to maintain his strong form and not be afraid to lose.

This will be the second meeting between both players with Paire winning their first encounter in Metz last year 7-6/6-4. Paire will want to improve his form and I strongly believe he will be able to. Paire loves playing in France, and his best tennis comes out when he plays in front of a home crowd. This match will be a very fun one to watch with many long rallies and incredible points which will get the crowd on their feet.

Benoit Paire to win.
