Bianca Andreescu vs Stefanie Vögele - 3/10/19 WTA Tour - Indian Wells Open Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Gerry Angus-USA TODAY Sports

Swiss tennis player, Stefanie Vögele will play against Bianca Andreescu in the third round of the 2019 WTA Indian Wells Open in California.

Bianca Andreescu enters this match having beaten the number 32 seed in the previous round. It was a solid performance by Andreescu as she impressed with her serve. During the win, Bianca Andreescu won 67% of her service points which resulted in her winning all of her service games. It has been a good few weeks for Bianca Andreescu as she won a Challenger tournament and made the semifinals of the Mexican Open prior to arriving at Indian Wells. Those performances showed that Andreescu is in good form heading into this fixture.

On the other side of the coin, Stefanie Vögele caused a major upset in the previous round as she eliminated the number 4 seed, Sloane Stephens. It was a very dominant performance by Vögele as she only allowed Stephens to win 3 games in the entire match. Stefanie Vögele won all of her service games while breaking her opponent’s serve on 5 occasions. The receiving was the most impressive aspect of Stefanie Vögele’s performance as she only allowed Stephens to win 45% of her service points. Beating Sloane Stephens will ensure that Stefanie Vögele enters this match filled with confidence.

This will be the first time that Stefanie Vögele and Bianca Andreescu will be playing each other at a WTA event.

This match is expected to be a very close contest as both Stefanie Vögele and Bianca Andreescu are in very good form. As far as picking a winner is concerned, I am going to side with Stefanie Vögele. While Andreescu has been playing well, Stefanie Vögele’s performance against Sloane Stephens showed that she is at the top of her game and very comfortable with the conditions at Indian Wells. It should be a tight match but I see Stefanie Vögele getting the win.
