The Line: -- Over/Under:
Croatian tennis player, Borna Coric has made it into the quarterfinals of the 2019 ATP Rosmalen Grass Court Championships in the Netherlands. Borna Coric will compete for a place in the semifinals against Cristian Garin from Chile.
Borna Coric had a close match in the previous round as he competed for 3 sets against Taylor Fritz from the United States. Coric lost the opening set but managed to fight back strong to win the final 2 sets and the match. Coric is always a solid server and he proved that once again during the win against Taylor Fritz. Coric hit 12 aces and won 73% of his service points which allowed the Croatian to win 93% of his service games. Such serving statistics are normal for Coric but the Croatian also impressed with his receiving. Coric won 3 return games which is very impressive since he was playing on grass and against a very strong server in Taylor Fritz. Borna Coric has a good record on grass and he looks in very good form as he heads into this match.
Looking at Cristian Garin, he played well in the preview round to defeat Robin Haase in straight sets. Garin was supreme while receiving serve as he won 47% of his return points which led him to break Robin Haase’s serve on 5 occasions. While the receiving was good, Cristian Garin did lose 3 service games which suggest that the Chilean is not serving at his best. This is further emphasized by the fact that Garin hit 5 double faults and had a first serve percentage of only 59%. This will be a tougher match for Garin as he is playing against the number 2 seed so the Chilean must improve his serving if he wishes to compete.
Cristian Garin and Borna Coric have not played each other in the past.
Cristian Garin has played well to make it into the quarterfinals but I see him losing to Borna Coric. Borna Coric has slowly developed into one of the top players in the world and he seems to be at his best when playing on grass. Borna Coric was clinical during his win against Taylor Fritz and I see him continuing in his winning ways by getting a victory in this fixture.
