Borna Coric meets Juan Ignacio Londero in the first-round of the 2020 Rio Open.

Borna Coric is trying to find his momentum and game after a tough 2019 season. Coric entered 2019 with high hopes, as he is one of the most exciting young players on tour. However, injury concerns and a lack of confidence affected his game. Coric enters 2020, again with those high hopes to get his game to where it used to be. Coric is a strong player, he is fast around the court and he is motivated to be one of the best. If Coric is able to maintain consistency in his game, and work hard, he will be able to get back to his level and reach an even higher level than that. Let's hope we see Coric back to his best.

Juan Ignacio Londero has impressed in the last two weeks in Argentina. The Argentinian player loves playing on clay and has been able to produce some of his best tennis in a while this year. However, Londero struggled with an injury in his semi-final match against Casper Ruud. Londero looked like he was going to book his spot in the final being a set and a break up against Ruud, however, injury struck and he ended up losing the match. Let's hope this injury isn't serious and that Londero is feeling better to play here in Rio.

This will be the first meeting between both players, but after the injury issues of Londero, I believe that Coric will take his chances and book his spot in the second-round. Coric wants to have a better season than 2019 and he needs to do this by winning matches like these with confidence.

Borna Coric to win.
