Borna Coric vs Matthew Ebden 2018 Shanghai Masters Tennis Pick, Preview, Odds, Prediction

Australian player, Matthew Ebden will play Croatian superstar, Borna Ćorić in the quarterfinals of the 2018 ATP Shanghai Masters

Matthew Ebden has had an amazing tournament as he eliminated Dominic Thiem in the second round and followed that by winning his third round match in straight sets. In his third round victory, Matthew Ebden served extremely well as he won all of his service games. It was an incredible performance as Ebden hit 15 aces and won close to 90% of the points played during his service games. In addition to that, Matthew Ebden broke his opponents serve on 3 occasions to set up a comfortable win. This fixture will be a much bigger challenge for Matthew Ebden as he is playing one of the top 20 ranked players and the Australian will need to continue his good form if he is to compete.

On the other side of the court, Borna Ćorić got past Juan Martin del Potro as the Croatian won the first set before the Argentine retired. Borna Ćorić has been in great form as he had already beat Stan Wawrinka in the first round. Throughout the tournament, Borna Ćorić has served exceptionally well as he has only lost one service game in the entire tournament. Looking at the rankings, Borna Ćorić is much higher ranked than Matthew Ebden and with 2 more ATP titles under his belt, the Croatian will have an advantage.

This will be the first time that Borna Ćorić and Matthew Ebden will play each other.

While Matthew Ebden has been incredible, I see his losing this match. Borna Ćorić is one of the top players in the world and has much more experience of playing in late stages of ATP tournaments. With the confidence of winning against Stan Wawrinka and getting past Juan Martin del Potro, I am picking Borna Ćorić to win this match and make the semifinals of the tournament.
