The Line: Anhelina Kalinina + 550/ Caroline Wozniacki -900 Over/Under:
Caroline Wozniacki has had an interesting 2018 season as the Danish superstar experienced the joys of winning the Australian Open but also managed to get eliminated very early at Wimbledon. Wozniacki will now look to prepare for the US Open as she plays the WTA Washington Open. In the opening round, Caroline Wozniacki will take on Anhelina Kalinina from Ukraine. Both players will want to do well in this tournament and must win this game so we should be able to watch a great tennis contest.
Anhelina Kalinina is a very exciting prospect and at the young age of 21, she has a very bright future. The Ukrainian youngster was dominant in her qualifying matches and she managed to win both fixtures in straight sets to earn her spot in the tournament. It has been a difficult few months for the Ukrainian player as she has made deep runs in ITF tournaments but has failed to qualify for any grand slam events. With the US Open not far away, expect Anhelina Kalinina to give 100% to ensure she is at the top of her game to qualify for the final major tournament of the year.
On the other side of the coin, Caroline Wozniacki will look to redeem herself for getting eliminated in the second round at Wimbledon. This is the first time the Danish superstar is playing since London and she will be determined to ensure she is back to winning ways. Playing on hard courts is a favorite for Caroline Wozniacki and I am sure she will be happy to be in the US and away from the grass and clay tournaments in Europe. Wozniacki will be desperate to win this WTA tournament and I am expecting her to be very effective in this match.
All in all, I see this match ending in one result and that is a win for Caroline Wozniacki. She is the much superior player and I think she is determined to well in this tournament. I also see this game ending in 2 sets since I don’t think that Anhelina Kalinina is good enough to win a set against the former world number 1.
