Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Chung Hyeon’s return to the professional tennis tour started off in fine fashion as the top-ranked South Korean player won his opening round match at the ATP Atlanta Open. That victory has gotten Chung Hyeon a spot in the quarterfinals where he will be taking on Ryan Harrison from the United States. With 8 players remaining in the tournament, the title is not far away and that should ensure that all the players are performing at the top of the game to get the desired result.

Chung Hyeon is the number 3 seed for this tournament and he showed his class in his opening game. Chung Hyeon was dominant as he beat Taylor Fritz from the United States and that shows that the South Korean is ready to compete at the top level of tennis once again. It has been a very difficult 2018 for Chung Hyeon as he missed the majority of the season due to injury but he will be determined to ensure that he can finish the year in a positive manner. This game will be a decent test for Chung Hyeon and it will be a good indicator in showing how ready the number 3 seed is to compete on the ATP Tour.

On the other side of the coin, Ryan Harrison will look to use the home crowd to get a win. The American is much supported in Atlanta and he will hope that can get him a spot in the final 4. That being said, Harrison is not as skilled as Chung Hyeon and it will be very hard for the American to overcome that. I expect Ryan Harrison to fight hard but I don’t think it will be enough for him to beat Chung Hyeon.

While both players are excellent, I am going to predict that Chung Hyeon wins this match. The South Korean superstar is a class player and I don’t think Ryan Harrison has the quality to compete with him.
