Russian tennis superstar Daniil Medvedev has made it into the third round of the 2019 ATP Shanghai Masters in China. At this stage of the tournament, Medvedev is set to play against Vasek Pospisil from Canada.

Vasek Pospisil has had a good tournament as he defeated Diego Schwartzman in the opening round. In the previous round, Pospisil defeated Joao Sousa in straight sets. During the win, Vasek Pospisil impressed with his serving as he hit 15 aces which helped him win 75% of his service points and 100% of his service games. The receiving was also solid from Vasek Pospisil as he won 2 return games. Despite the form he has shown in this tournament, Vasek Pospisil is expected to find this match tough as he is playing against the number 3 seed.

Looking at Daniil Medvedev, the Russian has been in elite form over the past few months. Daniil Medvedev has won the Cincinnati Masters and St Petersburg Open since the end of Wimbledon. Since the end of Wimbledon, Medvedev has also made the final of the Rogers Cup, Citi Open and US Open. The impressive form continued in the previous round for Daniil Medvedev as he defeated Cameron Norrie in straight sets. It was a dominant performance by Medvedev as he only lost 4 games in the entire match. Medvedev won all of his service games and 4 return games. Daniil Medvedev is in supreme form and is going to be very tough to stop in this tournament.

This will be the first time that Vasek Pospisil and Daniil Medvedev will be playing each other at an ATP event.

Looking at all the information, I am going to pick Daniil Medvedev to win this match. Medvedev has been the hottest player on the ATP tour and is a much more skilled player than Vasek Pospisil. There is a big gap in skill and I see that resulting in Daniil Medvedev winning in straight sets.
