The Line: -- Over/Under:
Darya Kasatkina and Caroline Wozniacki meet in the fourth round of the 2018 tennis French Open.
Darya Kasatkina is coming off a three sets win over Maria Sakkari that took 23 games to decide. In the victory, Kasatkina won 43 percent of her first serve points and 39 percent of her second serve points. Kasatkina managed to win a match despite winning just 42 percent of her total service points, which is kind of unheard of and lucky if we’re being honest. Kasatkina made up for it by winning 59 percent of her return points and giving herself 19 break chances. Still, Kasatkina has to be much more consistent with her serve if she’s to make a deeper run in this tournament. Kasatkina hopes to make a grand slam quarterfinal for the first time in her career at 21 years old. Kasatkina has won nine of her last 10 matches on clay court.
Caroline Wozniacki is coming off a straight sets win over Pauline Parmentier that took 15 games to decide. In the victory, Wozniacki won 72 percent of her first serve points and 47 percent of her second serve points. Wozniacki made her third round victory look effortless by winning 62 percent of her return points and producing just 14 unforced errors. Wozniacki has now won 10 of her last 13 sets played and is getting quite comfortable on a surface she usually doesn’t perform well on. We're seeting a confident Wozniacki now that she got the monkey off her back. Wozniacki hopes to make a grand slam quarterfinal for the fourth time in her last seven tries. Wozniacki also has a shot at her third career French Open quarterfinal. Wozniacki has won seven of her last nine matches on clay court.
These two have never played each other on the tennis court.
With how easy Wozniacki’s third round match was, she should be highly rested for this match. Kasatkina is honestly lucky to even be here after such a power service game, and a repeat performance won’t fly against such a quality returner in Wozniacki. This should be another routine match for the 2018 Australian Open winner.
Wozniacki makes it back-to-back French Open quarterfinals.
