American tennis superstar, Frances Tiafoe is set to play at the 2019 ATP Next Gen Finals in Milan. Frances Tiafoe will begin his tournament against Jannik Sinner from Italy.

Jannik Sinner last played at the Vienna Open where he was eliminated in Gael Monfils in the second round. Despite that result, it has been a strong few months for Jannik Sinner as he made the semifinals of the European Open in Belgium. Sinner received an entry into this tournament as the wildcard due to his Italian nationality and he will look to cause a major upset in front of his home crowd. That being said, this is expected to be a tough match for Jannik Sinner as he is playing against the number 2 seed.

Looking at Frances Tiafoe, the American has not had a good season as he has struggled to make big results. Tiafoe last played at the Paris Masters where he was eliminated in the opening round by Taylor Fritz. It has been a tough few months for Frances Tiafoe as he has only won 2 matches since the US Open. The ATP Next Gen Finals will be a good chance for Tiafoe to finish his season strongly but considering his current state of form, it is going to be a tough task for the American.

Jannik Sinner and Frances Tiafoe have played each other once in the past. The match was played a few weeks back at the European Open. It was a close match but Jannik Sinner proved to be too strong as he won in 3 sets.

Looking at all the information, I am going to pick Jannik Sinner to win this match. Despite being the lower seed, Sinner will have the momentum having defeated Tiafoe at the European Open. Sinner looks to be playing with more confidence and I see him winning on home soil.
