The Line: -- Over/Under:
Belgian tennis player, Greet Minnen has made it through to the quarterfinals at the 2019 WTA Rosmalen Grass Court Championships in the Netherlands. Minnen will now face Veronika Kudermetova from Russia.
It has been a very good tournament for Greet Minnen as she has won both of her matches in straight sets. In the previous round, Greet Minnen defeated Margarita Gasparyan from Russia. Minnen received serve exceptionally well during the match against Gasparyan. Greet Minnen won 50% of her receiving points which allowed her to break her opponent’s serve on 5 occasions. While results have been going Greet Minnen’s way in this tournament, the Belgian will know that this will be a much tougher match since she is playing against a more accomplished player in Veronika Kudermetova.
On the other side of the coin, Veronika Kudermetova had a very easy win in the previous round as she defeated her opponent in straight sets. It was a dominant performance by Kudermetova as she only lost 4 games in the entire match. The serving was especially impressive for Veronika Kudermetova as she won 77% of her service points which allowed her to win all of her service games. Veronika Kudermetova also won 4 return games to get the overall victory. It was a very impressive win for Veronika Kudermetova and she should be very confident as she enters this fixture.
This will be the first time that Veronika Kudermetova and Greet Minnen will be playing each other in a WTA event.
Both Greet Minnen and Veronika Kudermetova played very well in the previous round and both players will be playing with a sense of confidence. As far as predicting a winner is concerned, I am going to pick Veronika Kudermetova. Greet Minnen is not a regular on the WTA scene while Veronika Kudermetova has been playing WTA tournaments on a consistent basis. This difference in routine tournament should mean that Veronika Kudermetova is better suited to a quarterfinal match. With that in mind, I see Veronika Kudermetova getting through to the final 4.
