The Line: John Isner -500/ Bradley Klahn +350 Over/Under:
American tennis superstar, John Isner will be looking forward to playing in his home grand slam. The world number 11 will take on fellow American, Bradley Klahn, in the opening round of the 2018 US Open. Both Americans will look to do well in front of their home crowd and that should ensure we will get a great game of tennis.
John Isner has been playing some incredible tennis. The most impressive part is that the American has managed to return to the top of the tennis world at the age of 33. It has been a good few months for John Isner as he made a deep run at Wimbledon and followed that performance by winning the ATP Atlanta Open. The biggest threat that Isner causes is his through his height as he hits the ball at awkward angles which makes it difficult for players to judge the bounce. This is most effective on the bouncy hard court in North America and I am expecting him to be a big challenge for everybody in this tournament.
On the other side of the court, Bradley Klahn will look to eliminate the top-ranked American in the opening round. Bradley Klahn is more commonly seen on the Challenger tour which means he will not be familiar with playing players with as much skill as John Isner. These two have met once before which was in 2014 where John Isner won comfortably in straight sets. Looking at the two players, it is hard to see Bradley Klahn causing John Isner much trouble. I am expecting Isner to win in straight sets and eliminate Bradley Klahn.
As far as betting is concerned, the best wager in the under 3.5 sets. This is better than betting on the outright result since John Isner has a poor price to win outright.
