John Isner vs Dan Evans - 2/23/19 ATP Tour - Delray Beach Open Pick, Odds, and Prediction

American tennis superstar, John Isner has made it into the semifinals of the 2019 ATP Delray Beach Open. At this stage of the tournament, John Isner is going to play against Dan Evans from the United Kingdom.

Dan Evans has had an outstanding tournament as he entered the event as a qualifier and has now managed to eliminate some of the biggest names in the field. Evans beat the number 3 see, Frances Tiafoe, in the opening round. In the previous round, Dan Evans beat the number 6 seed, Andreas Seppi, in straight sets. It was a very solid display by Dan Evans as he 68% of his service points which allowed him to win 90% of his service games. Evans broke Seppi’s serve on 3 occasions to set up a comfortable victory. This is going to be a much tougher match for Dan Evans and the Brit will need to be at his best if he wishes to compete.

John Isner, on the other hand, beat Adrian Mannarino in straight sets to make it into the semifinals. During the win, Isner impressed with his serve as he won 77% of his service points which included hitting 24 aces. Isner won all of his service games and broke Mannarino’s serve on 1 occasion to secure the overall win. Isner is very strong while playing in the United States and that will make him very hard to beat in this match.

This will be the first time that John Isner and Dan Evans will be playing each other at an ATP event.

Taking everything into consideration, I am going to pick John Isner to win this match. John Isner is much more accomplished and a much stronger tennis player. Furthermore, John Isner has the home ground advantage as this tournament is being played in the United States. With all that in mind, I see John Isner making the final of the Delray Beach Open.
