Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

American superstar, John Isner will take on Milos Raonic from Canada. The winner will win a spot in the quarterfinals of the 2018 ATP US Open. The stakes are high and that should mean both players will be fully determined to win this match.

John Isner has looked exception all tournament. The American is feeding of the New York crowd and he has looked very hard to beat. Isner has never made it past the quarterfinals at Flushing Meadows and he will know that this might be his last chance of making a huge impact on this tournament. The weather in New York has been a major talking point of this tournament as the heat is causing fatigue but this should not be the case for John Isner as he has been fortunate enough to play most of his matches at night so the impact was less. This will be the first major test that John Isner will face in this tournament and if he continues playing like he has been, he should pass it.

On the other side of the coin, Milos Raonic has looked very good also. The Canadian beat Stan Wawrinka in the third round and he has looked like a player that can beat anybody in the field. That being said, this is going to be tough for Raonic since he will need to handle the skill of Isner along with the crowd that will be behind the American. While Raonic is an exceptional player, it will be very hard for him due to this match-up.

This should be a close match since both of these players are very talented. I am going to pick John Isner to win this match. The American has been incredible in this tournament and he is using the crowd to his advantage. I see him getting the win against Milos Raonic and winning a spot in the quarterfinals.

Pick:
John Isner
