Susan Mullane-USA TODAY Sports

John Isner won ATP Atlanta in 2017 and he is looking to defend his title this year. The American is a top player and has made it to the quarterfinals of the tournament. At this stage, he will face German superstar, Mischa Zverev. Both players are in great form and have been playing well all tournament so we should expect a great tennis match.

John Isner is ranked number 8 in the world which has led him to be the top seed in this tournament. It is clear to see that the American is playing his best tennis at the moment and that he is at the peak of his career. It was a heartbreaking end for John Isner at Wimbledon as he lost a 5 set thriller in the semifinals but he looks like he has bounced back strong as he won his opening round match with ease. The number 1 seed is a massive fan favorite and he will know that there is a lot expected of him in this competition.

Mischa Zverev, on the other hand, will look to eliminate the hometown hero. The German is the number 7 seed for ATP Atlanta and that ranking was clear in his previous match as he won in very convincing fashion. That being said, this match will be an entirely different type of challenge for the German since John Isner is a top player and very difficult to face due to his height. Mischa Zverev will need to play exceptionally well to challenge John Isner but that might not even be enough.

All in all, I am predicting John Isner to win this match. The number 1 seed is playing incredible tennis and is considered to be one of the best players in the world. While Mischa Zverev has been impressive in this tournament, John Isner has been even more impressive so I only see this match ending with one result.
