American tennis superstar John Isner has made it to the third round at Wimbledon. In the third round, he will be taking on Radu Albot from Moldova. This should be a very interesting game since we have an accomplished player in poor form and an unaccomplished player in good form. This should set up a great contest.
Radu Albot has won both his matches in 5 sets and that showed the fighting spirit of the man from Moldova. His first-round win was very impressive as he managed to eliminate the number 20 seed. It has been a good 2018 for Radu Albot as he managed to make the second round of the French Open as well as getting many good results in doubles tennis. Radu Albot has won many Challenger events but has never managed to make an impact in ATP events. The Moldavian will feel that a win over John Isner will change his career so I am expecting a very determined performance.
John Isner, on the other hand, will want to win this game quickly. The American has not been in the best form and had to fight hard to get to this stage of the competition. The last match that John Isner played went 5 sets and the United States based player will feel that he needs to win in straight sets to ensure that he is fresh for the later stages of the competition. On paper, John Isner is a much more accomplished player compared to Radu Albot and I am sure the American will get tons of confidence from that fact.
Overall, I think that John Isner will win this match. While Radu Albot has impressed in all his matches, I don’t think he has the skill or ability to compete with John Isner. Isner is one of the best players in the world and I think he will show that. I expect the American to win in straight sets. As far as betting is concerned, we are not getting a good enough price to wager on John Isner to win so the best bet is the under 3.5 sets.
