The number 9 seed, John Isner, will be starting his Wimbledon campaign against German professional played, Yannick Maden. This is a game between two exciting and talented players so we should be able to watch a great game of tennis.
Yannick Maden was very impressive in qualifying and his performances showed that he has the potential to be a high-class tennis player. Wimbledon will be a big chance for Yannick Maden to break into the top tier of tennis. Having been a professional player for over 5 years, Maden has never made an impact in the APT and that is something that will not impress the German. This will be a tough game for Yannick Maden since he has drawn the 9th seed meaning that he will be up against a great player.
On the other side of the court, John Isner will look to win this game quickly so he is fresh for the later stages of the competition. The American made it to the round of 16 at the French Open and will look to improve on that in this tournament. Isner has not played since the French Open meaning that he has not been playing for approximately one month. This is not ideal but it will mean that the American is fresh and relaxed heading into this tournament. At the age of 32, John Isner will know that this is the year where he must win titles since he is closer to the end of his career than the beginning.
Taking everything into consideration, I am going to predict that John Isner will win this match. Isner is competing on a much higher level when compared to Yannick Maden and I think that difference in ability will be obvious. I am expecting John Isner to win in straight sets and end this match quickly.
As far as betting is concerned, we are not getting the best price to wager on John Isner winning this match so avoiding the outright results market is suggested. The best wager in the under 3.5 sets. Isner should not lose a set so this bet seems like a safe one.
