Juan Martin Del Potro and Benoit Paire meet in the third round of the 2018 tennis Wimbledon.

Juan Martin Del Potro is coming off a straight sets win over Feliciano Lopez that took 25 games to decide. In the victory, Del Potro won 97 percent of his first serve points and 80 percent of his second serve points. Del Potro lost just one of 33 first serve points and didn’t face a single break point. I’ve mentioned before how Del Potro is playing some of the best tennis of his life, but if he’s going to serve at that level moving forward, he’s going to have a legit chance to win his second ever grand slam title. Del Potro is simply in another zone at the moment. Del Potro hopes to make the fourth round of a grand slam for the fourth time in his last eight tries. Del Potro has a chance to make the fourth round of the Wimbledon for the first time since 2013. Del Potro has won five of his last seven matches on grass court.

Benoit Paire is coming off a four sets win over Denis Shapovalov that took 37 games to decide. In the victory, Paire won 80 percent of his first serve points and 38 percent of his second serve points. Paire won 66 percent of his total service points and hit 28 winners in his second round victory. Paire bounced back nicely after losing the first set without winning a single game and managed to dominate the fourth set tiebreak to prevent the match going any longer. Paire has combined for 78 winners in his last two matches. Paire hopes to make the fourth round of a grand slam for the second time since 2016. Paire has won three of his last four matches on grass court.

These two have played once, which was in the 2013 Rome Masters, a match Benoit Paire won in straight sets. The match took 23 games to be decided.

Paire is playing well and has been spraying enough winners to give him a chance in this match. However, I’m simply not betting against Del Potro in his current form, as he’s playing the best tennis of his life and has been dominating his serve to go along with what was already an effective return.

Del Potro makes the fourth round of the Wimbledon.
