Juan Martin Del Potro and Lucas Pouille meet in the third round of the 2016 Wimbledon.

Juan Martin Del Potro is coming off a four set win over Stan Wawrinka that took over two and a half hours. In the victory, Del Potro won 64 of 85 first serve points and racked up 23 winners and 25 unforced errors. Del Potro has now won no less than 75 percent of his first serve points and has 53 winners in his first two matches. Del Potro is also coming off his first victory over a top-10 player since 2013, so the confidence should be there for the 27-year-old from Argentina. Del Potro looks to reach the fourth round of a grand slam for the first time since the 2013 Wimbledon. Del Potro has won 10 of his last 13 matches on grass.

Lucas Pouille is coming off a straight sets win over Donald Young that took an hour and a half. In the victory, Pouille won 41 of his 52 first serve points and racked up 34 winners and 25 unforced errors. Pouille came into this tournament in questionable form but has won no less than 74 percent of his first serve points and has 69 winners in his first two matches. Pouille doesn’t have a lot of history on grass but is hitting the ball well and is a threat when serving at a high level. This is the first time Pouille has played in the third round of a grand slam. Pouille has lost six of his last eight matches on grass.

This will be the first time these two meet on the tennis court.

This should be a fun match between two guys who are gaining confidence at the right time and serving at a high level. However, I have more confidence in Del Potro considering he has more experience in grand slams and has just been sharper overall.

Give me Del Potro in four sets.

Juan Martin Del Potro
