Tennis | Nick Kyrgios vs Juan Martin Del Potro
Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

Australian tennis superstar, Nick Kyrgios has made it to the round of 16 of the ATP Cincinnati Open. The number 15 seed will be playing Juan Martin Del Potro from Argentina in this round with the winner getting a spot in the quarterfinals. Both of these players are considered to be among the best in the world and that should ensure that we get a good tennis match.

Nick Kyrgios has had an awful North American season. The Australian has struggled with injury and that has caused his form to dip. It is still clear to see that Nick Kyrgios is not 100% as he has struggled at times in this tournament. With that in mind, Nick Kyrgios has still managed to win which shows a great desire from the Australian. With the US Open starting later this month, Nick Kyrgios will know the importance of getting some wins under his belt and that should ensure that he is committed to doing well in this event. This match will be his first real test and it will be interesting to see if he has what it takes to beat a top player.

On the other side of the court, Juan Martín del Potro has looked good recently. The Argentine has been hitting the ball well and it seems like he is in good form. The Argentine has made a few decent runs in the past few tournaments and that would have given him confidence heading into this match. This is a big ATP tournament and Juan Martín del Potro will be very keen to win so I am expecting the Argentine to play his best tennis.

All in all, I am expecting Juan Martín del Potro to win. While Nick Kyrgios has fought hard, I don’t think the Australian is 100% which will make it almost impossible for him to beat a top player like Juan Martín del Potro. I see the Argentine winning.

Pick:
Juan Martin Del Potro
