French tennis player, Chloe Paquet has made it into the quarterfinals of the 2019 WTA Baltic Open in Latvia. At this stage of the tournament, Paquet will be playing against Katarzyna Kawa from Poland.

Katarzyna Kawa enters this match having defeated Jana Fett in straight sets in the previous round. It was a dominant display by Kawa as she only lost 3 games in the entire match. During the win, Kawa served exceptionally well as she won 76% of her service points which aided her to win 100% of her service games. Katarzyna Kawa also broke her opponent’s serve on 4 occasions. Katarzyna Kawa enters this tournament in supreme form as she made the semifinals at the Swedish Open last week. Considering her recent form, Katarzyna Kawa will be confident in her ability to do well in this match.

On the other side of the coin, Chloe Paquet won a big match in the previous round as she defeated Caroline Garcia in 3 sets. It was a determined performance as Paquet lost the opening set but fought back strongly to win the final 2 sets and the match. During the win, Paquet impressed with her returning as she broke Caroline Garcia’s serve on 4 occasions. It is important to note that Chloe Paquet has been struggling with her serve for a few weeks. In this tournament, Paquet has already lost 7 service games. With the tournament getting more competitive, Chloe Paquet must improve her serve.

This will be the first time that Katarzyna Kawa and Chloe Paquet will be playing each other at a WTA event.

Chloe Paquet showed great determination to defeat the number 2 seed in the previous round. That being said, I see Katarzyna Kawa winning this match. Paquet has been struggling with her serve and I see that being costly in this match. Katarzyna Kawa has been supreme form following a strong Swedish Open campaign and I see her being good enough to win this match and qualify for the semifinals.
